Halloween....

Booooo.....October 31st means Halloween.......

The family were to meet at our home to grab a bite to eat, get into their costume and then go to Trick or Treat. But with all the excitement, none of them wanted to eat.

So Na-Na helped them get into their costumes while I manned the front door handing out candy to the early arrival trick or treaters.

The weather was just perfect being in the low 70's for the kids. And being the perfect night, we had a total of 225 Trick or Treaters show up at our door for treats.

The young kids showing up at our door were really cute this year. Then even before the evening progressed to a late hour, the "older" kids started showing up. Now I mean "older" as in above 17 and NOT dressed in any type of costume. Some didn't even have a bag to put their candy in, they just held out their hands.

Now I don't know about you folks reading this blog, but when I was a kid 16 was the magic age you didn't go out to trick or treat! In fact I remember at 15 how awkward I felt doing the same thing as the "little" kids were doing. Well, I guess times change, along with this old coot. But this old coot gave those kids holding out their hands just ONE tiny ity bity sucker. Maybe next year they will take the hint that it just ain't worth all that walking for a little sucker!

OK...I just had to get that off my chest.

The evening ended around 8:30 when the "gang" arrived back home and had to inspect what they had received. Not as much as in the past. I guess a sign that times are getting rough for everyone and the amount of candy is reduced. Plus Wilma said that there were more homes dark not giving out candy then homes lit and giving out the candy.

All in all everyone had a great time.

Another wonderful adventure in our lives complete, come back again to see what our next adventure might be.

Until then be safe and God Bless.

Pumpkin Patch Trip

Sunday, October 14th.

What a perfect day to go to the Pumpkin Patch to pick out the Halloween Pumpkins. Perfect blue sky, not a cloud to be seen. Temperature expected today in the low 60's. Perfect for a fall adventure.

The kids and grand kids all look forward to this trip every year. It's a big deal all climbing into the motor home to go to the pumpkin patch. So at 10am we are planning on going on this annual adventure.

Tina phoned around 9am to inform us that she has an upset stomach and is not feeling well. Na-na will go pick up the grand kids, leaving Tina to rest at home. Hopefully she will be feeling better later today.

Here they are getting ready to "hit the road" to find the "perfect" pumpkin.

The day was perfect. Everyone was in great spirits and excited waiting for the ride to the Pumpkin Patch to find their own perfect pumpkin.

We stopped at Wendy's for lunch on the way back home. We all had a perfect day of fun.

Another great Adventure! Come back again soon.
