But shortly after arriving the sun came out and it was a perfect day for a reunion picnic. Temps in the mid 80's with humidity enough to let you know it was there.
It was good to attend again this year, (not every year my mother can attend).
My family was all there except Tina. She had to work until 3pm and had to miss the picnic. Bummer as she really enjoys going to this family function.
For me, I do it mostly for my dad. As there is only 4 members left in his generation. Himself and his 3 sisters. My Aunt Ella being the eldest at 93. My dad at 81. Don't know the ages of the other 2 sisters.
As usual the prayer was said at 1pm sharp. The lines were formed and out of respect, the elders were allowed to go first to fill their plates with the large assortment of food. Following dinner we had the minutes read to us of last years reunion.
Then.....let the games begin! Starting from the infants to adults, everyone had a chance to participate in their age group for a prize. When it got to Dakota's age group he first decided to participate, then changed his mind and backed out. I told him not to worry because I used to run the other way when I was his age and the adults were calling me to participate in the games. I didn't enjoy it then either.
All in all it was a great time had by all those who attended, and we look forward to many more years of watching the family grow.
Another wonderful adventure in our lives to share with you.
Come back again.
Until then be safe and God Bless.
